Re: [Merged] *ALL* Speed Upgrade Discussion In Here Please
hopefully this will all increase the level of urgency at NTL re our speed increases and I suspect will shove the £25 admin charge into the bin.

I only did it that way as those type of links often change what's on them over time (news pages), so copying it keeps what is there for people to refer to. It's normally accepted to copy providing you link back to the source, as I did.
Anyway, no worries.

Re: [Merged] *ALL* Speed Upgrade Discussion In Here Please
Operation Tornado IS imminent
"From 17 February, BT will upgrade the speed of all of their Broadband services, for the same price. All existing customers will be migrated automatically for free. However, BT will not increase the current usage allowances on all services.
This move will give BT a temporary advantage over ntl until our planned speed upgrade (called Project Tornado) in mid-March. From then, we will match or beat all BT products on price, speed and usage allowance.
It has just been announced that existing ntl 750K and 1.5Mb customers will be upgraded to the new speeds (2Mb & 3Mb) automatically and for free, (no admin fee). Existing 300K customers will be given the option to upgrade to the new speed (1Mb) if they wish as the new 1Mb speed will have a reduced monthly usage of 3GB, and customers may prefer the 300K service with 30GB monthly usage allowance."
> *BT Broadband Basic and BT Broadband don't have email, anti-spam & anti-virus nor personal webspace, whereas all ntl broadband services offer these for free.

Re: [Merged] *ALL* Speed Upgrade Discussion In Here Please
That's a bit daft having a 30GB cap on 300k and only 3GB allowed for the new 1MB teir.
If they'd any sense they change that to 20GB on the 300k and 13 GB on the 1MB.

They could have chosen a better operational title surely
"Operation Here It Is At Last"
"Operation Stop Your Whingeing"
just a couple of suggestions

Re: [Merged] *ALL* Speed Upgrade Discussion In Here Please
I dont blame him he is probably treated poorly.
"From then, we will match or beat all BT products on price, speed and usage allowance."
I see NTL still think BT is all of ADSL, BT wholesale has no limits and BT isp is only a % of the entire ADSL user base. So the above is a false statement.

Re: [Merged] *ALL* Speed Upgrade Discussion In Here Please
BT as an isp is the widely recognised competitor of ntl though. ntl aren't going to match some niche isp who may offer great speeds/allowance.
Anyway thats great news, i doubt they had any alternative re the fee, i love leaked info

Neither confirming or denying this at all, but giving out info like that true or not on a board like this, or any public forum is a very bad idea.

Re: [Merged] *ALL* Speed Upgrade Discussion In Here Please
Seems like "Operation Tornado" is spreading rather quickly - also been posted on the Digital Spy forums at http://forum.digitalspy.co.uk/board/...d.php?t=192078
Obviously if this is true then its pretty big news and I'm pretty sure we're not meant to know about it!
