ntl are probably as glad to see me go as i am .. today my ukonline modem arrived 2Mb adsl, its great still like to see how ntl get on. my xbox not chipped its not even mine its my younger brothers, but as ntl say i need a month to cancle, why not hook it up on the xbox? no point waisting the ÃƒÆ’Ã†â€™ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã…Â¡ÃƒÆ’Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â£..
no need to accuse me of warez i go to the shop and buy things as hard as it is for u to believe.

I dont know but it must be one hell of a movie as I can get a 2 hour film on a DVD from my local rental shop - and that's under 5gb!

its not just 1 300GB file its alot of video files split up, and which is why i own a dedicated server so i can upload at 100MBit to other box's but it doesent take very long going at the speeds it does

movie? i use a digital camera to make clips so unlike the dvds u buy/rent my files end up bigger

but now gone completely off topic - speed upgrades through ntl they taking ages about it and they only doing it because every other isp is and they are forced to but cant.... moving was right

Not much point in a response to be honest, mildly curious as to how said 300GB of videos (enough for days of DVD quality images) gets to the server, especially considering you'll only get 2GB/day uploaded on cable.

Profuse apologies, I thought you owned the ntlworldsux domain.

Still think you're talking out of your backside though, I struggle to think of a digital video camera that does the kind of bitrates you are talking about unless you are doing Big Brother style non-stop video. Data rates in Greece must be fabulous for your relatives to get 1TB down in 2 days.

However not really for me to judge or decide, this is getting soap opera type silly as well as highly off topic + me butting out.

Must get myself a dedicated box to 'send files to the family'.

Wouldn't it be cheaper, quicker, and less aggravation to stick a couple of DVDRs through the post ?

Not with 300GB data volumes, this chap's digital video camera makes HDTV look like poor quality VHS.

Eeek, of course ! I'm looking at the numbers and thinking in Megs rather than Gigs ....

Wouldn't it be quicker, cheaper, and less aggravation to fly over every week to wherever the relatives live and just re-enact the last 7 days' significant events ????
