Re: not good enough
AFAIK You can get 1-4 through the box straightaway, he just has to wait for the box to be registered to get the rest?
Has he been told how long he has to wait?

Re: not good enough
Its usually within an hour. Sounds like the tech has forgotten to inform the people who need to know. But yeah u can get 1-5 straight away

Re: not good enough
Thats all been done all correct and on the system just awaiting activation has rang customer service five times why dont they just tell the truth why fob off the customers and why cant they ring them back
why should you have to do all the chasing after all ntl provides the service.

Re: not good enough
Have you looked at the NTL service status (link at the foot of this page)?

Re: not good enough
I waited for weeks and weeks and made them come and collect their shoddy box in the end with no sign of any channels.
Should have known better before I gave them a second chance!

Re: not good enough
this problem did start to occur when they swapped their systems over the back end of last year was a real pain in the back side.
customer services are not telling you porkies there really is nothing that can be done about it, it is a fault within the systme, i used to get this problem all the time with box's that my techs had installed and then when not working within a couple of days would come back in as a early life failure and i would be sent out to sort the problem out.
i came accross a couple of people in the back office support team that had a couple of things they could try to attempt to speed the process up and sometimes it worked and sometimes it didnt, nothing else they could about it. it is just the system waiting to pair the card and box and send the "hit" through to the stb.
so long as 1-4 or 1-5 are coming through then there is no fault i would say with the install or the box, it is just the fault with NTL's sytem.

Re: not good enough
would you agree Acropolis that this is affecting ntl tonight ntl are yet again in our local press half a dozen customers complaining about being charged for services they have not got this ocurrs at least once a week for the last month ntl are no longer the company that can be trusted to deliver a product that you can be sure that works first time why should you do all the running around calling customer service to ask when your service will be working.

Re: not good enough
in my honest opion, NTL are bloody useless and i wouldnt trust them to do anything. The people that work for them, well the ones that i came accross anyway, were always more than useful and tried everything they could to help out with whatever problem i was encountering at the time, and this would be several problems several times a day, but i never dealt with cs on installs back office.
When they had their down time last year and swapped over to the new systems, we had major problems with getting DTV/ATV/SACM and telephone lines to work. The installs were going ahead fine, but telephone lines hadn't been activated (although i belive this problem is now or very soon will be solved) and we couldnt get box's activated and all sorts. I personally would never have any service from them, we even on a couple of occasions had installers running around untli 11.30pm dropping letters through peoples letter box's telling them that their install which was booked in for the next day wouldnt be happening and to ring cs if they had a problem with this. joke or what.

Yes it does happen on harmony, BUT it also could/did happen from time to time on SMS and ICMS AFAIK. So not a harmony specific problem, just something that happens occasionally

Re: not good enough
The problem is nobody will stand up and say right lets get this right instead of get as many customers on we can we have to hit target dont matter if we dont connect them just make sure you bill them at the end of month this company has gone down the pan its the share holders the money men who are screwing customers now because they are only here for the short term.
