I agree, he's done more for the net than anyone else and he's been the head of the W3C for ages now - they are the organisation who set the web standards like HTML, CSS, XML etc.

I wish I knew him personally but one of the IT trainers in work went to school with him, small world...

cool stuff.. to be honest, I hadn't even heard of this guy until I saw on the news page for my uni that he had been made a Professor for the Computer Sciences Department...
