Re: Anyone good with boilers / an Electrician?
Hi Homealone,
Many thanks, but i just want to check one thing - the red/black wire goes into the furthest position away from you looking at it, which would put it in the switch at the constant position, correct?
Is that right - and just to make sure were both on the same track here, this should also be the position which one of the black leads from the double black plug on the on / off switch also goes too.
Again, many thanks i appreciate this.
EDIT: i ask because i would have thought it would have went into the timed position and you cant see it on the photo.
EDIT 2 : Sorry my bad - talking bull..

bum, he has just left & it is all closed up again, now.
That would be red/black wire to the constant position, yes, that was how the engineer said it was connected, anyway - he did me a little diagram which represented the terminals on the two switches like this
on/off <> time/sum/const
4 <> 3 (constant)
3 <> 2 (summer)
2 <> 1 (timed)
1 <>
the red/white wire from the timer connected to no 2 on the on/off along with the double black, and he showed the red/black lead from the timer going to no 3 on the const/sum/timed.
- I have to admit logic would suggest a timer would be connected to the timer terminal (no 1) ?????
- and I didn't get whether one of the double blacks went from the on/off to the other switch, sorry.
oh & no problem, I'm glad to try & help - I just hope I havn't confused you even more
