It's a windows service which is important to your operating system
Quote:
Process File: rundll32 or rundll32.exe
Process Name: Microsoft Rundll32
Description:
rundll32.exe is a process which executes DLL's an places their libraries into the memory, so they can be used more efficiently by applications. This program is important for the stable and secure running of your computer and should not be terminated.

If you are worried about something nasty trying to access your connection then I would suggest running a full sweep of adaware, spybot s&d, hijackthis and an anti-virus software to double check everything is ok

I believe Windose update uses this also, just check that the one you're running is the correct filesize etc. for your version of your OS.

Re: C:\WINNT\system32\rundll32.exe
It's safe, but it doesn't actually need to connect AFAIK. I've blocked rundll32.exe ("RunDll as an App") in ZoneAlarm, & never had any problems with Windows Update nor anything else.

Re: C:\WINNT\system32\rundll32.exe
That's because Spybot actually removed the program forcefully and because it was in your startup, Windows cannot find the file.
Look in the following locations for this and remove it: - 1) Start > Run > type "msconfig" > hit Enter.
Look in the Services and Startup tabs.
- 2) Start > Run > type "regedit" > hit Enter.
Find the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Run and look for any references to the file.
Also look in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Run.
- 3) Check Start > All Programs > Startup (assuming WinXP).
