Re: Russia has invaded Ukraine

Quote:
The US has proposed that European countries unfreeze some Russian sovereign assets immobilised after Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine and transfer them to a vehicle overseen by Washington in an attempt to revive peace talks.
The idea was floated during discussions in Miami last week between Donald Trump’s peace negotiators and officials from Ukraine, France, Germany, the UK, EU and Nato, four people briefed on the matter told the FT.
The US suggested several possible methods for unfreezing the assets, including for them to be moved into a new special-purpose financial vehicle overseen by Washington, the people said.
A US official said the use of Russia’s frozen assets was discussed as part of a comprehensive peace deal and that the mechanisms of how they would be released and where they would be spent were still under discussion.

Why on earth would Europe do this?
As soon as we transfer over the assets, Trump would give it back to them with no strings attached, or just demand he gets something personally for it.

Re: Russia has invaded Ukraine
Trump is turning out to be possibly one of the most corrupt and self serving political leaders ever known . . and there's been a few bad ones.
Everything he does (or tries to do) is aimed at furthering himself, not the USA, not Europe, not Greenland, and certainly not the World.
He's talked and acted himself into some bad situations, and hasn't learnt a damn thing.
People should ask one question regarding Trump . . would you buy a second hand car from this person?
It seems he's now running legal battles against political opponents, quite obviously nothing to do with the upcoming election stuff . . honestly.

And people still wonder why I'm sceptical about Trump's bestie Farage

Re: Russia has invaded Ukraine
No matter how many people vote for, or even just agree with some of the stuff Farage comes out with, there isn't any chance* of him being in a position powerful enough to compete with one tenth of Tumps lunacy.
*smear campaigns, undercover investigations, etc

Re: Russia has invaded Ukraine
It’s not a smear campaign if it’s true…
