Do they still do Postal Orders? 
Have you considered how much frames cost to manufacture? It’s pennies. You only pay for the name and the optician’s markup.
Same with lenses. Most are mass produced, and only the extreme prescriptions cost more to make.

Mine went through without any problems whatsoever. Only issue was that I apparently can’t drive 7.5 ton vans anymore.

Did mine online almost 3 years ago, bit of a kerfuffle with the photo but eventually sorted ok . . and yes, they 'stole' my 7.5 too.

I'm back this morning, too late to edit the post above,
I'd been in bed about 30 seconds when I remembered I hadn't done my (happy 70th) renewal online, I'd had to go down the 'forms from the post office' route.
Hopefully, now DVLC have all that info safely tucked away in a box somewhere, I can actually renew online early next year. 
I'm not looking forward to it

Since I had no details to change, and used the previous photo (it was only two years old, as I lost the previous previous one), it took about thirty seconds…

I still have mine in our filing cabinet (along with my first UK black passport (with the corner cut off) that was issued in 1981 - I didn’t need one before, as my RAF 1250 (ID card) was sufficient for overseas travel).
