If the police lied, Reform UK would have filed a complaint. They didn't. Unlikely to happen the other way round.

As Hugh stated, Farage did not say that point about his legal team on the video. Furthermore, the investigations are still underway so he's not been able to say he's been cleared.

Look, my job wasn’t to do compliance. My job wasn’t to do a background check. My job was to turn up at a lunch, have a glass of wine and shake somebody’s hand.”
