360 box frozen

Following the recent software "upgrade", my 360 is now stuck on the Welcome screen.

I've tried the usual suspects - switch off and on, cable check - but still nothing.

Any ideas/thoughts welcomed. Am I looking at a replacement box?

Re: 360 box frozen

Tried switching it off at the mains for at least 30 seconds?

Re: 360 box frozen

You could try turning off the 360 with the switch on the back of the box, then on the 360 box press and hold down both the power button and the + button at the same time.

Then turn on the box again whilst keeping hold of those buttons for a further 30 seconds.

The box should reboot, the power button will turn white and it should reset and boot up normally.

If that doesn't work you will need a new box.

Hi Roy, good to see you are still around.

Recently there's been more success by turning off the 360 with the switch on the back of the box,and then holding down both the standby/power button and the - (minus) button at the same time, then turning the box on again whilst keeping hold of those buttons for a further 30 seconds.

Tried that but no joy. Tricky manoeuvre as I only have two hands.

Thanks anyway, but it looks like I have to talk to someone at Virgin about a new box.

What does this do over and above a normal power off reboot?
