A judge has ruled that Donald Trump must hand over his financial records to the BBC as part of his 10 billion dollar (£7.5 billion) defamation case against the broadcaster.
Trump’s legal team has tried to block the move, calling the ruling “premature, improper, and especially burdensome”.
It comes after Trump sued the UK broadcaster in a Florida court over the editing of a Panorama documentary from 2024 about the US Capitol riots.
Trump has already dropped some of the lawsuit to avoid this, but it's pretty funny. American journalists have been trying to access these records for years; it would be pretty amazing if the BBC managed to obtain them and submit them to the court record.
Probably will either be blocked or have Trump drop the whole thing.
