Funny how this stuff happens when there's a danger of an apple cart being upset . . . much like the mysterious appearance of a 'leaked' list of BNP members years ago

I don’t think the kind of upset or people I have in mind happens overtly in public.
It’s like Mandelson. Everyone has known he was dodgy since the first time he was sacked, or the second time, or since he was a visible friend of Epstein and never offered sufficient answers. However for so long as you are useful the British press are quite happy to be complicit in deceiving the public on your behalf. But when they turn….

Isn’t it interesting that as soon as Trump starts prattling on about communism after Mamdani’s election win in NYC, it suddenly starts becoming a buzzword again and being bandied-about by other people?

Re: Reform UK's chronicles
Oh dear Labour want to be careful about throwing stones in glass houses!

Paywall removed
https://web.archive.org/web/20260521...-oil-and-arms/
https://www.removepaywall.com/search...n-oil-and-arms
And then there is the whole 8 companies paying a total of £500k between them and being awarded over £115m in government contracts!
https://autonomy.work/portfolio/give...of-government/
Although that happens with all parties, I think it is something that needs dealing with because, that again like I have said is "Buying access" and "Buying MP's" who are supposed to be doing the job for the country and their constituents not their back pocket!

As the media is so compliant towards Farage, maybe he's asked them to raise these donations so he can step down as leader and blame the media for making his life difficult?

England through against Mexico and now Farage might be resigning...Chrimbo coming early!

Davey 'hopes' Farage is leaving politics
Sir Ed Davey, the Liberal Democrat, has made his position clear.
He replied to Farage's post about his "future in public life", saying that "I hope it's that you haven't got one"

Re: Reform UK's chronicles
From Nige's video statement
Quote:
|
Farage says that the £5m gift from Christopher Harborne at the centre of one investigation will fund the security he believes he needs for the rest of his life. "I am the most physically and verbally attacked public figure or politician of modern times," he says.
|
Jo Cox and David Amess may disagree...

Especially if Restore stand in the by-election in Clacton, split the right-wing vote, and someone else wins the seat.

Re: Reform UK's chronicles
This is a very astute move by Nige.
If he wins the by-election, he’s got the "people’s mandate".
If he loses, he can blame "The Establishment"and carry on gathering funds without any Parliamentary Commission oversight…
btw, as part of his video statement, he criticises the media for "haranguing**" his family - can anyone* find any recent examples of this?
*I can’t, unless he means the chap who calls him "daddy"?
** To harangue someone means to subject them to a long, loud, and aggressive speech or lecture. It is typically a forceful or scolding attempt to criticize someone, express strong disapproval, or coerce them into agreeing with your point of view
