Not for that reason, though, a little point you missed in your reply.

Surely then it would be better for Reform supporters to have, well, voted Reform, keep Burnham out and ‘lame-duck’ Starmer in place.
Or am I missing some cunning plan here?

Jem, it’s exactly what the voters were saying - they said they would vote for Burnham to get Starmer out.
It makes sense. They hate Starmer up there. He’s not exactly popular in the South, either, is he? If Reform won, it would have no bearing on whether the PM would leave.

Plenty of them said they could not vote Reform for that very reason.
You need to apply some critical thinking here and not just repeat Reform's latest excuse without at the very least, sense-checking it first.

Well that depends on your POV, 34 is young to me these days.

No, they did not. I agree that some women said that, but most said they were more concerned with policies than what the Reform candidate said in his younger days.

Re: Reform UK's chronicles
His "younger days" were in 2021 and 2022 (when he made some the comments about Voderman and abortion…), when he was 36/37…

I doubt the headlines would be positive, they'd more likely be about her very poor judgement in appointing them in the first place, and how she's wasted 2 years on a bunch of losers and is only getting rid of them now in desperation (probably too little too late to be honest with you).
There is a positive however, you surely can't be the only party member who can see she's not very good when it comes selecting people for the top jobs. The rest of us saw that when she took over and saw her top team for the losers they are way back then. There's hope for you yet my friend .

There's much worth in what you say. However, my take is that when she made her appointments, she was vulnerable to the bad will of the people she defeated for the leadership. So she appointed them.
But yes - they should have been dumped by now, especially when the Chagos stuff was the top headline.

Let's agree to disagree on this.
The other thing that came across was that voters saw Reform as the Conservative Party 2.0. That's hardly surprising as Robert Jenrick, (Reform UK’s Treasury spokesperson), called the relaxation of immigration rules “probably the worst public policy decision of my lifetime”.
Jenrick was Tory immigration minister from 2022 as the immigration wave peaked.
Yes. Robert Jenrick was the immigration minister from 2022 as the immigration wave peaked. Let those words sink in.

You’re not getting it, are you? The right wing of the Conservative party could not get their wishes accepted by their liberal wing. This is one of the problems you get when appealing to the centre ground. And it’s why those who had been sidelined for years decided to defect to Reform, where their ideas would be embraced.

Re: Reform UK's chronicles
All those polemics between the two of you hardly matter. Peak Farage has electorally occurred for now. If he boxes clever, it will resurge and Kemi will have some thinking to do.

Re: Reform UK's chronicles
I'm sure Peak Farage has occurred, period.
As reluctant as I am to make predictions, I can't see Burnham attaining Starmer's level of unpopularity.

Andy (I Am Legend) Burnham is no doubt popular with most other political figures, but don't let that fool you into thinking the general public are going to take to him too.
oh, and the difference between popular and unpopular can be as little as 6 months
