Re: TV360 - pro and cons

It appears that repeated messages via the STB, email, text message, phone calls & the 'carrot' of being able to receive 'exclusive' access to Sky Atlantic hasn't worked.

Virgin are now deploying use of the stick. All Virgin streaming channels will be removed from the V6 on 2/6/26.

I suspect that next to go will be premium movies, then premium sport and finally basic pay TV channels.

Re: TV360 - pro and cons

More bullying from VM.
Received a message on my V6(Tivo).
"From 2 June, Virgin TV streaming channels will no longer be available on this Virgin TV TiVo box. To keep watching them, you need to upgrade to our latest TV box.
...".
Also in the EPG entries for the channels.
So much for having a contract.

Too many losses of features which i regularly use and too many unknowns of other things that would be lost.

Don't use "virgin tv streaming channels" ( presumably the fast channels crap). so they"ll have to try again with another threat. Murder of my first born maybe? Even then, i'd be 50/50...

Its weird , if they were going to enforce this, you'd think they'd have done so by now.

They want everybody to voluntarily change over as, if they forced migration too soon, too many customers would leave. This way they can say "You chose it".

At the end of the day, nomadking, they could just update your box to 360 software overnight. No need to persuade anyone.

Well at least that would stop all the moaning!

There might actually be technical reasons for this rather than what is being assumed. Can’t think what they are in relation to the FAST channels, though.

Re: TV360 - pro and cons

Offer a saving , no not put the prices up and offer not too if you move. But a real cut and for a realistic period. I would seriously look at it but the moment it's definitely a case of it ain't broke don't fix it

Re: TV360 - pro and cons

After several weeks of the message to "upgrade to 360" popping-up. I got the "2nd June" message yesterday.

So goodbye to decent software and options, and a large step back to the 360 system.

Luckily we are still in the famine of US shows that happens every xmas to Spring, so I only have a few to watch before they get erased.

I shall have to make a copy of my Series Links first. I wish there was an option to copy them somewhere.

The problem with series links on the TV360 is that the series had to be currently showing. With TiVo, I can set up a series link for a series that might have a new season in the months ahead. If a new season of a US series starts up, it's automatically picked up and added to planned recordings.

Re: TV360 - pro and cons

I think the only time I’ve ever watched one of those “FAST” channels was out of curiosity to see a 20-odd year old episode of Homes Under The Hammer.

A screen or two of the EPG I no longer have to scroll past.
