Re: Starmer’s chronicles
For those who watched PMQs today (04-Feb-26), it will have been noticed that Kemi totally nailed Starmer. Kemi was questioning Starmer's judgement in appointing Mandelson and she asked whether or not Starmer knew that Mandelson was still in contact with Epstein after his conviction.
He admitted that he knew about the relevant Mandelson contact with Epstein which is why he referred that knowledge to the vetting process.
So, Starmer was utterly skewered. You could see it akin to a fox staring into the truck's headlights. I've never seen Starmer so subdued (nor his backbench MPs) and at a loss as to what he could say to put himself into a better light.
Kemi did well.

Starmer should start looking for a good removals company. I think everyone but him can see the vultures circling around him.

Starmer hasn't got a 'long future', says veteran Labour MP
A veteran Labour MP has warned that Sir Keir Starmer hasn't got "a very long future" as PM - and that it's a matter of "when... not whether" he goes.
Graham Stringer's warning comes after the PM was forced to climb down on a vote to stop the release of some documents relating to Mandelson in the Commons yesterday, which he called a "fiasco too far".
Asked about the climbdown, Stringer told Sky News: "I think yesterday was a fiasco too far, really.
"I think it started off in a bad way and got worse as the debate went on. It was a measure of political mismanagement and political incompetence."

I think he believes he can hide from the vultures by digging a deeper hole for himself!

Re: Starmer’s chronicles
A vote of confidence in Starmer is being called for by the Opposition. That may bring him down, but I think he may survive that, albeit narrowly. The May election results will finish the job. Will he call a General Election in that eventuality as he promised, or do I feel another U-turn coming on.
This is the long awaited just desserts for Starmer after his holier than thou attitude towards the government of the day while Labour was in Opposition.

Liberal Democrat leader Sir Ed Davey said: "Keir Starmer should say 'put up or shut up'. Let's have a confidence vote now to see whether Labour MPs have any confidence in the prime minister, so the government can get past this one way or the other and start focusing on the change our country needs."

Is the above what is "being called for"?

I doubt anyone would promise to resign in the case of mid-term election results when the next general election is still some three years away! And let's not forget that Theresa May was felt to be be on her way out after her disastrous 2017 election campaign that made her power dependent on an agreement with the DUP. It took two more years to dislodge her.

He didn’t, the aforementioned poster has simply made it up!
And there is a lesson to be learnt here, if you make a statement, do be prepared to back it up with verifiable sources or facts. Do the research, put the work in. Don’t just repeat, verbatim, something that you have heard, as being the truth. because good chance that it actually isn’t!
