The broadcast on TNT 140 is about 10 seconds behind the BBC broadcast on 991.

Their Ashes cricket coverage was 19 seconds behind the BBCs radio commentary. With streaming this will get worse. There will be a point where sports coverage can no longer claim to be 'live'.

Re: Virgin TV (2026)
Actually, Sky Sports now do streaming down to less than ten seconds delay. BBC iPlayer has been trialling as well.

Still not 'live' though is it? Radio and freeview are always going to quicker than streaming.

Re: Virgin TV (2026)
Freeview was never live - when you compared it to analogue tv
When you watch football on tv - you often notice the screens in the stadium are not even live
The only place it is truly live - is at the event itself

Re: Virgin TV (2026)
I thought the delay was deliberate, so they could cut out things that should not be broadcast (if necessary) ?
