How can next door be connected?
I have my own router and I recently setup an older router in AP mode so that I could have it upstairs to help boost the signal with my wifi cameras.
I noticed when looking at connected devices which should have just been the cameras.
Those that live next door to me recently had sky installed and on the network band 2.4ghz it said this (sky light digital limited) was connected to my AP router. I could see it on the network but no option to kick them off. I then tried to put it on the band list and it was still connected.
It's password protected I looked into the router options to see if there was something setup during the AP process allowing other networks to join but I couldn't see anything.
In the end I changed the password on the router and noticed it had gone although I didn't leave it on long enough to find out if it would rejoin the network and unplugged the router for now.
The thing is the wifi password is same as the one I have setup downstairs so I figured if they had cracked the AP router they would have been connected to the one downstairs a long time ago.
I posted online and someone said (ski digital) is a photo frame or something like that but I'm not sure. Hoping someone on here might have an answer?

What did your neighbours say when you asked them about it?

My Belkin ethernet adapter shows as CE LINK LIMITED. I'm just noting a device may not seem as you think it is.

Re: How can next door be connected?
Is it a list of connected devices or of available devices? When have to set up a connection, I see several other available networks. Unless a network is open, I wouldn't be able to actually connect to it.

It was actually listed under devices connected to the router as I could see it was using bandwidth showing connection time as well.

Re: How can next door be connected?
Is their camera actually working or is it trying to connect to you in error, and can't because of the wrong password? 5 minutes of access time isn't that much.
If you're worried about somebody else connecting to you, hide your SSID.
You could disable access to that specific MAC address if you wanted to.
Advanced settings -> Wireless->Wireless MAC filter(tab) -> Enable MAC filter to Yes - > MAC filter mode to Reject. Select the MAC address and add it to the Reject list.

Re: How can next door be connected?
It's my camera's I have 3 of them all WiFi 4k but the signal isn't always that great the furthest one at 40% the other 2 50 - 80% which is why I set up an AP router upstairs as they are located bedroom height.
I'm going to plug it back in later and see how it goes now the password has been changed

I do appreciate that this thread is almost two months old, and it’s likely that you have long since solved the issue or worked around it, but I’ve only just noticed it.
Do you, by any chance have any ‘Powerline’ devices in use?
