How does stuff get "Lost" in the mail?

I just got a christmas card that was marked 1 December!! (Must have gotton lost and they found it??)
I tell ya,I would much rather get the box of VHS tapes from Colorado I ordered from ebay last year!!
What happens to stuff they say got lost??
Things have an address on them. What happens to it??
I have had several ebay things not come......... (Gotton "lost")
Its a bunch of BS!!

Our postie often has to spend part of his shift trying to get "lost" mail to its destination.
Illegible writing, smudged addresses and even impossible addresses, all too much for the IT that is meant to read them.
Your house number and postcode are usually all that is required for correct transport, so he suggests repeating that info somewhere else on the envelope of package.

I always hear bad stuff about USPS. Missing mail and damaged mail.
Generally it can be miss processed and put in the wrong place etc.

Well 1 thing is they got too much to do... People send UPS stuff with the reg mail and it over taxes them!!
They should deny packages.... Tell the people thats what UPS/FEDEX are for!!
People didnt used to send UPS stuff with the reg mail!!
