Farming was seen as a nice tax loop hole for the likes of Clarkson and Dyson. Tax away, they can afford it. Their financial advisers will have to find another scam.

Reform’s candidate for London mayor broke companies law

Laila Cunningham, who says the capital is in the grip of a crime wave, has had several businesses struck off

Laila Cunningham, 48, has been heralded as an “enormously talented, successful woman” by Nigel Farage, the Reform leader, who this week unveiled her as a candidate for the 2028 poll.

The lawyer, who launched her bid by claiming that London is “in the grip of a crime wave”, has repeatedly fallen foul of UK company rules in her own business life.

Records show that three companies, either owned by Cunningham or in which she served as a director, were struck off by Companies House for apparently failing to file required documents.

Failing to file company accounts is a criminal offence under UK law and while directors can be prosecuted this action is rarely taken.

The businesses include a female co-working app started by Cunningham in 2017 and a business selling magnesium and menthol-infused roll-on lotion.

Cunningham, a Muslim mother of seven, is seen as a rising star within Farage’s party. She is currently a councillor in the wealthy Lancaster Gate ward in Westminster.

However, it's her religion which is not going down well with some on the right.

Dan Wootton, for instance, the far-right online broadcaster who had to leave GB News after Lawrence Fox made sexually offensive comments on Wootton’s show, complained that:

“Reform UK have capitulated to Islamists. Picking the Muslim Laila Cunningham to battle Sadiq Khan to become Mayor of London is deeply depressing”.

According to the Metro, IDs will now NOT be mandatory!

U-turns are more of a pattern now with Starmer, aren't they? The Metro says this is his 13th. Seems those 3,000,000+ signatures, including MINE, did some good after all!

Sir Keir Starmer has U-turned on plans for mandatory digital ID cards for workers - marking his government's 13th U-turn after just 18 months in office, which is one every six weeks on average.

At the time it was announced last year, the government said that digital IDs would become mandatory for the right to work by the end of this parliament - which is 2029.

But Sky News understands this will no longer be the case - leading the Tories to brand him "spineless", and the Lib Dems to joke that he must be "bulk ordering motion sickness tablets".
