Re: RIP Buck Rogers AKA Gil Gerard

Sad.

I remember him in the Buck Rogers episode "Space Rockers":

Buck: They kinda sound like the Beatles.
Wilma: The who?
Buck: No, not The Who, the Beatles!

"Vegas In Space" (a fave)

Marla Landers (after Buck's spotted a VERY attractive passer-by): That's someone from Klosef III. Not your type.
Buck: Oh yeah? (Inflates chest) We'll soon see about that.
Marla: I really don't think you'll like him. (She walks off)
(What she's said hits him)
Buck: Him?!

Pilot film:

Buck (after being told he's landed almost exactly where his ship was originally programmed to land): Uh, look, Doc, now I've been through a lot, but there is no way you can tell me that that city out there is anything like Chicago!

In "Plot To Kill A City (part 2)" :

Joella: You're takin' me to a city that might be blown off the map at any minute?
Buck: Told you it might be dangerous.
Joella: You have a real gift for understatement. Why do all the good-lookin' ones have to be crazy?

And earlier:
Joella: Y'know, ever since I met you I've been making some very important people very angry at me...and you know something? (Laugh) I haven't had this much fun in months!

But I also remember his eloquent defence of Hawk in "Time Of The Hawk part 2", and the way he finished it off with such masterful contempt:

Buck: And if you do otherwise...if you sentence him to death...this last survivor of a once-proud people...then men will speak for a thousand years of the day Man rendered his most terrible and merciless judgement.

Bravo, as Dr. Goodfellow said.

Buck: Wait'll the guys at the Cape hear this: Buck Rogers sets down in the middle of Red Square!

(And back then, Erin Gray rang my bell, too! One of the few brunettes who rocked as a blonde!)

Wilma: We all owe you a great deal more than an apology, Buck - especially me. I confess I thought the Princess had you beguiled.
Buck: Well, I will say she had the nicest set of...horns...at the ball.
Dr. Theopolis: Yes, it was an attractive hat.

How did they get away with that? Or with Buck's quip about being out of it for 500 years - "I gotta go easy on re-entry"?!

Even Kane had his moment:
Ardala (furious): You have a lot of explaining to do!
Kane (who's just seen her in bed with Tigerman, her guard!): I have some explaining to do?!

"The Hand Of The Goral":
Wilma: How was she (the fake Wilma) different?
Buck: Well, she was warm and friendly and affectionate - (She swats him with a cushion)

Re: RIP Buck Rogers AKA Gil Gerard

So sad to hear this, RIP Gil.

Just seems that so many actors/actress's from the 60's,70' and 80 are passing on, thanks to them for the great characters/series that they were in.
