I found out yesterday that renewal is now every 3 years from age 70.

An article I read somewhere said that you will not be allowed to "self declare" as having good eyesight and health in the near future, but will have to provide medical documentary evidence.

You can have a free eye test every two years at the opticians if you’re over 65, so I’m pretty sure that would do (and quite honestly, if you’re a driver and over 65 (as I am) it’s worth it (for your own and others safety) to get your eyes checked regularly…

I sometimes think of kicking it all into touch, driving, and the expense involved, is getting to be a time consuming hassle I could do without.

The problem is, that leaves public transport as the answer . . .
