There’s nothing new about people catching speculative door-rattling criminals on Ring cameras. Videos like that get posted on our local community facebook page on a monthly basis.

I live in a relatively high crime area and keep getting the old bill knocking asking me to check my feed. Like I have all day when they can not give even a close timeframe to search . From the Telegraph today:

The Labour Party is facing questions over alleged payments to journalists and influencers to post social media content that criticises Reform UK.

A company with links to the Labour Party has allegedly approached journalists offering to pay them £50 per week to post “progressive” videos online on themes such as “Nigel Farage does not stand for the working class”.

It raises the question of whether Labour is secretly funding social media content that appears to be independent, rather than being transparent with voters and making clear whether it has sponsored social media posts.

The Labour Party has refused to say whether it is funding the videos, which are claimed to be the brainchild of 411 Communications, a company set up by ex-Labour staffers last year. Its name refers to the number of seats won by Labour at the general election.

Labour would only say that it does not comment on “confidential arrangements” with any of its contractors.

Political parties are supposed to be transparent in identifying themselves as funding advertisements. So much for their ‘rules based’ view they allegedly have on society when it suits them.

Farage said he didn’t agree with what he said about the vaccine causing cancer. One little point you forgot to mention in your desperation to vilify Reform.

If you don't want to be associated with a particular Doctor, don't have them write your health policy and invite them to speak at your conference.

A Reform UK-run council has lifted its month-long ban on a regional daily after the newspaper issued a legal threat.

Nottinghamshire County Council broke off contact with journalists from the Nottingham Post in late August after objecting to a piece about local government reorganisation.

But it has now been forced to back down after lawyers from the Post’s publisher Reach plc threatened legal action against the authority.

In a letter to the council this week, they argued that the ban was unlawful on the grounds of “irrationality” and in breach of the council’s own councillor code of conduct.

The council has how confirmed it has lifted the ban in full, while attempting to blame its original imposition on a “misunderstanding.”…

… Confirmation that the ban had been lifted came in a letter from the council’s team manager for litigation, Geoff Russell, the Post’s legal representatives.

It stated: “To the extent that the leader of the county council or any other elected member wishes to restrict or decide who may or may not be invited or interviewed for any private matter, function, or meeting, that is entirely a matter for the individual concerned.

“What I can state however, is that Nottinghamshire County Council confirms that your clients are and remain entitled to attend functions, meetings which are open to the public. In addition, I can confirm that your clients will receive publications to email distributions lists to which they and all other media outlets are ordinarily entitled.

“Finally, I would just like to reiterate that Nottinghamshire County Council remains committed to the principles of openness in Local Government. I hope this clarifies the matter which I now regard as closed.”

The letter also claimed the ban may have been the subject of some “miscommunication or misunderstanding”.

A clear case of taking a hard line against *probably* some journalists twisting things to get a better 'more edgy' story, then having to backtrack due to 'legal' reasons.

Not only is there no source for this, but his company doesn't even do this kind of work.

Yet not one writer or lawyer on a BBC show that goes out at 9 pm decided to check just a basic detail.

We have a media class so obsessed with social media that misinformation just seeps into everything.

There’s not a thread on the Conservatives or Lib Dems, but you could start one.
