Yours is an opinion. Not a statement of truth. You don't like Farage and colour your posts accordingly.

Re: Reform UK's chronicles

To be fair Seph, a lot of people (and much of the media) don't like Farage and his 'gang'.

It remains to be seen in future voting if those that don't like him are in greater number than those that liked Europe, which was in itself a master class in 'not reading the room'

It’s not "opinions" that Farage hasn’t attended the House of Commons since it re-opened on the 1st September (because he was in the USA), he has not held a Constituency Surgery since he was elected 14 months ago, and that he only voted 95 times out of 267 votes in the House of Commons last session - those are facts/statements of truth.

Re: Reform UK's chronicles

Different I know but

I think I've only voted about 5 times in the 50 odd years I've been eligible to, and there's probably many who've never bothered at all . . and the wife is one of them. She's quite happy and contented as long as she can turn the TV on and see soap operas, programs about dogs, hospital dramas, and all the shit shows with celebrities in them.
Given the state of apathy surrounding voting, Farage is probably in the range of 'normal'

I watched the whole thing live on TV, Farage sailed through it.

Hes probably not wrong, but given events this year I dont think the US is a great example either.

Re: Reform UK's chronicles

The US is just the other side of the coin; people have been arrested and even deported for leading protests over Gaza that were not violent. Citizens themselves have protection from the 1st Amendment, but even then, the Government will use what power it has to make life difficult for you.

Being free speech is easy when it's speech you like; the test is when it's speech you don't. Farage is no different in wanting police action against speech he doesn't like: https://www.theguardian.com/culture/...milkshake-joke

Quote:
The BBC has defended the comedian Jo Brand against claims she incited violence in comments she made during a radio show.

Brand, who joined the Heresy talk show on Radio 4 as a guest on Tuesday, joked about throwing battery acid at “unpleasant characters” instead of milkshakes.

Nigel Farage, the leader of the Brexit party and one of several European election candidates that had milkshakes thrown on them in recent weeks, tweeted: “This is incitement of violence and the police need to act.”

On the show, Brand said: “Why bother with a milkshake when you could get some battery acid?”
It's the same the other way around with people who were saying that Kneecap shouldn't be prosecuted for the stuff they said as part of a performance (although I do think they were getting quite close to borderline) saying Graham Linehan should be. If you set that standard for Linehan, then it will come around to bite you. I think this is especially obvious when Reform are leading in the polls, good luck with what will happen when they take power.

Just seen a clip of Andrea Jenkins in sequins singing her way onto the reform stage. The future is indeed bleak
