Quick V6 refresher question
We’ve had a V6 for a LONG time but I so rarely use the feature I’m about to ask about I don’t remember how to do it.
How do you replace a recording with a bookmark en masse?
I have been asked occasionally over the year “do you want to replace recordings with bookmarks?” by the software over the years but I can’t remember the circumstances it does so.
I had though I just delete a folder of recordings and then it would ask, but that has just deleted the recordings any time I’ve tried it.
I prefer recordings, but I need to delete a fair few on a short time basis and would appreciate a refresher. I can’t find how to online (or in the on-box tutorials).
Thanks in advance.

Re: Quick V6 refresher question
So you have recordings, which you want to delete but have VoD bookmarks instead?
You can try going into each recording, follow the options to "explore show" to get into "search & explore", and then "create a bookmark" once you've found an individual episode.
Then go back to the recording & delete. It's not something you can do en-masse - recordings are designed to always take priority.

Re: Quick V6 refresher question
I've never been asked if I want to replace recordings with VOD and at times would find this useful due to lack of space on the HDD.

Is that lack of space due to existing recordings or future planned recording with series links?
You can set the maximum number of episodes that are to be kept. The "keep at most" can be set to 1,2,3,4,5,10, 25 or all recordings. If you have a series link that says 20 will record, then setting the "keep at most" to 5 will reduce the predicted required space. The other episodes wont appear in the "my planned recordings" list until the number of existing and planned episodes drops below 5.

Re: Quick V6 refresher question
We’re not actually out of space, I’m trying to keep my V6 box “healthy”. Some of our recordings are pretty old and their part of the hard disk hasn’t been used for quite a while. I would like to start using those parts of the disk again.
There was definitely an option to replace recordings with bookmarks, but it only presented itself in particular circumstances.

It was Richard talking about lack of space issues.
You might find that the older recordings can no longer be viewed. Channel deleted or moved.

Yes, that's happened to me. @angus i'd quickly check if they can be viewed, if not you might as well delete them.
