Re: Israel v Iran conflict
He really is all over the place.
So it seems this has gone like this:
- Trump tears up Obama deal in his first term, Iran starts working towards a nuclear weapon again
- Trump hits out at Biden and the Democrats over increasing chances of war with Iran
- Trump gets back in, wants to sign a deal with Iran to stop them from building nuclear weapons
- Israel scuppers deal by bombing Iran
- Trump wants credit after Fox News and others praise Israel for those attacks
- Trump joins in on the attack, then immediately tries to avoid escalation by stating the attacks were now finished
- Iran also tries to avoid escalation - Trump thanks them - declares a ceasefire
- Trump is now genuinely angry that it isn't the end of it
It's like a child who can't control their temper and isn't familiar with the concept of consequences.
He doesn't want a conflict with Iran but couldn't control himself from joining in with Israel's attack lest he loses the respect of morons. So, he tries to engineer a situation where he can appear tough while still getting what he wants in the long term. He is now angry that this little escapade might undermine the long-term goal.

Israel strikes back at Iran despite Trump warning
Israel struck Iran despite a warning from Donald Trump not to retaliate against an alleged Iranian breach of a ceasefire, but said it would refrain from further attacks.
Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said on Tuesday afternoon that Israeli forces had hit a radar station near Tehran but would not launch any more assaults following a conversation between the Israeli prime minister and the US president.
Iranian media confirmed that attacks near the capital had occurred.
The strikes came shortly after Trump warned Israel to hold fire against Iran as he accused both sides of violating a US-brokered ceasefire.
“ISRAEL. DO NOT DROP THOSE BOMBS,” the US president wrote on his Truth Social platform. “IF YOU DO IT IS A MAJOR VIOLATION. BRING YOUR PILOTS HOME, NOW!”

Except one so friendly it bombs a radar station.
However, if Iran does not respond, he can declare the cease fire a success.

Re: Israel v Iran conflict
Israel’s refusal to do just a friendly plane wave after he stuck his neck out and ordered them to bring the bombers home has hit him right in his narcissistic nut-sack. For the doubters amongst us, the spittle-flecked, f-laden mini-rant he just dropped while boarding Marine-1 is exactly what someone suffering narcissistic injury looks like.
It’s as if Iran’s decision to fire its duelling pistols in the air yesterday has caused Trump to think he suddenly understands how the Middle East works, and he thought he could order Israel to do something similar, and they’d be ever so delighted to do something for The Donald, after all they owe him bigly for sorting Iran out for them.
He is an utter, utter moron who needs the 25th amendment pulled on him at the earliest opportunity.

Re: Israel v Iran conflict
Getting into 1984 "Truthspeak" now*
https://www.thetimes.com/us/news-tod..._BEST_OF_TIMES
Quote:
The US airstrikes on Iran did not “obliterate” the country’s nuclear programme and only set it back a few months, according to a leaked intelligence assessment that drew a furious response from the White House.
President Trump has claimed that the American strikes on three sites had “completely and totally obliterated” Iran’s nuclear programme.
But an assessment compiled by the Defence Intelligence Agency found that attacks on Iranian nuclear sites at Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan did significant damage without destroying the facilities, it was reported on Monday night.
The agency found that at least some of Iran’s highly enriched uranium needed to create a nuclear bomb was moved before the strikes by US B-2 stealth bombers on Sunday, according to the Associated Press, which cited two anonymous sources familiar with the agency’s classified report...
… The White House press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, called the leak “a clear attempt to demean President Trump and discredit the brave fighter pilots who conducted a perfectly executed mission to obliterate Iran’s nuclear programme”.
She added: “Everyone knows what happens when you drop fourteen 30,000lb bombs perfectly on their targets: total obliteration.”

* I think leaking this info was inappropriate (as it’s Classified), but I understand the frustration that led people to this, to illuminate the lies being told

Re: Israel v Iran conflict
What has probably happened is Trump oversold the intervention to give a reason to end the conflict. They probably have made the facility inaccessible for the time being.

Yup. And Iran's bombing of the US bases n Qatar was definitely advised in advance. Looks like the US and Iran need to both throw a bit of red meat to their supporters back home without causing too much upset on the ground. Whether the US intended this outcome is not known.
