Love a bit of dark humour, not everyone gets it though, like Wikipedia who until recently had War Crimes this list is incomplete, you can help by adding to it

Going to try the fayre at the local dog racing track in an hour or two, not expecting much more than chicken in a basket but who doesn't like that

Re: Whats the last restaurant you dined at?

A few in Brighton...

Aydo on the marina. The restaurant is a picture for sore eyes, really nice but the menu is overpriced and the stereo music cannot be turned down. There is however live music entertainment.

Kambies near town. A bit of a tight squeeze, I can't get my head around some restaurants size and capacity, to me it doesn't add up but dine in we did. Menus priced fairly, some a little too cheap to be honest.

Another place I cannot remember the name of, it was in Hove I know that much. Eye watering pricing but the table service was top class. I happily sat there with no care in the world. I'll try remember next time I'm in Brighton and update here accordingly.

Re: Whats the last restaurant you dined at?

Just been to Vice & Virtue in Leeds (Chef Jono was a MasterChef Professionals finalist in 2020) - the Signature Tasting Menu was outstanding.

Chickpea, Harissa, Gunpowder tart
Malt Loaf & Salted Butter
Ramen Broth with Hens Egg, Sweetcorn, Furikake
Sea Bass Tartare with Kimchi, Radish, Apple
"Not French Onion Soup" (layer of risotto, layer of crispy onion, topped with a parmesan espuma)
"Fish & Chips" with Gherkin, Peas, Curry Sauce
Steak & Ale, with Guiness, Lovage, Truffle
Mango, Coconut, Lime pudding
Mushroom Tiramisu
Petit Four

Would recommend.

Re: Whats the last restaurant you dined at?

Don't know if anyone has tried Koh Thai in Port Solent?
They also have restaurants in SOuthSea, Bournomuth, and Lillput.
Great Thai flavours.

Also, I love Turtle Bay. They often have offers on and if you download the app you get free voucher on your birthday.

A small menu isn't a bad thing. I more suspect of huge menus you know can't really be handled well, lots of repeats with minor changes. Some of the best meals I've had have been in small French cafes with 2-3 options on each course.

Indeed. Do a few items really well rather than lots of items that are average. Wouldn't all be cooked and made fresh either.

Re: Whats the last restaurant you dined at?

Morrisons café Big Breakfast. They still insist on putting the beans in a small pot.

I prefer that (and do so if I put beans or mushy peas on family dinner plates at home). They stay hot for longer.

Re: Whats the last restaurant you dined at?

Had a lovely lunch with my brother, aunt and uncle in Piccolino E Vino, Newton Mearns this afternoon. Gorgeous Italian food. Their main restaurant is La Vita in George Square Glasgow. Also fantastic and where me and the wife had our first date 16 years ago.
