Last year I bought a g plan 3 seater power recliner for the snug for a third of the price.

I’ve seen them have Parker knoll stuff in as well

Highly recommend them
My whinge: just had the quote back for the new kitchen 18k and that’s without flooring worktops, appliances or fitting but does include a 42% discount as it’s being purchased by a friend who is in the trade |

 | There's no limits on what people will pay. If you've got it then what's the issue. Got to keep up with the trends and the Joneses...

But what do annoys me is those that have the kitchen of your dreams with every mod-cons you can think of, but you can't touch or use anything as it's all for show. They'll probably don't know how to use anything and all they'll do or can do is heat up a tin of beans or reheat a takeaway. That's life....

Bad reaction to Flu or Covid jabs received on Saturday. Shivering with the cold, couldn't get warm, ended up going to bed with dressing gown on and several layers of extra blankets, still freezing and thumping headache. Lasted all through the night, back to normal Sunday thank goodness.

One thing: a taxi turns up, but it's not the one you ordered. To me it makes perfect sense just to swap the two fares around on the system; doing that might give a taxi company an edge in terms of a) saving a passenger's time, b) saving on fuel/electricity - after all, the driver's there. Far cheaper, surely, to swap them about?
Same with dropping someone off where you want to be picked up - why can't they just pick you up? In this case, you're there.

 | If you are talking about a private hire taxi then they can only take a passenger that has pre-booked them as only hackney cabs are allowed to accept passengers without prior booking – it is illegal for drivers of private hire vehicles to pick up passengers unless they have pre-booked. A driver would risk his licence and also could have problems with his insurance if a passenger who wasn't pre-booked needed to make a claim.

It really winds me up when hospital departments send out appointments with no indication as to where they are being held in the hospital complex. And then they don't answer the phone but send you on an automated wild goose chase around other numbers before someone finally says "We don't have that information, you'll have to go through the switchboard to contact them directly".
And that takes you back to square one yet again!

Recently an appointment letter arrived, and it took me 3 days to get to talk with someone and their response was "Oh, they have used the wrong letterhead, we are now in the other site miles away". But before I could ask where on that site the clinic was being held, they hung up!!!

As an example if you get through to an Indian call centre and you’ve told them why you’ve called, they always say “I will surely help you with that”.

Nobody in the UK says I will “surely” help you.

What they mean is “I will certainly help you”. In Indian languages the word for sure and certain is the same so they say this blissfully unaware of how wrong it sounds.

Now that’s just a basic example but if I’m speaking to my bank, dealing with MY money, I don’t care about “cultural differences”, I want to make sure I fully understand what they’re talking about and vice versa.

That’s why I now only use a bank that uses UK customer services only.

Evidence of mice existence in my house! Found partially eaten chocolate biscuit and droppings in kitchen drawer.
Last time I had a mouse issue 10 years ago I caught several in the kitchen and loft where there is a down pipe between them both so I've put 4 large traps around the mouse. I really hope I can sort this problem out quickly. I never could figure out their entry point but I'm guessing around the eves into the loft.
