It's my first PC since 2007 also. Spent over £2k on it. Its quiet most of the time and yes the updates can be a pain but no more than consoles these days, system updates and game updates etc. I can hook it to my TV for a relaxed play, use mouse and keyboard for FPS games but everything else is on an Xbox 1 controller. A much better experience over all with high framerstes and better details and ray tracing. PS4 Pro is mostly used now for VR and 3D and normal Blu Ray player.
I was tempted by the anniversary PS5 slim though, but bought Coldplay tickets instead lol.

Currently available at Sony direct if you can get it past the missus, they don't take payment until November.

Re: What have you just bought?
I don't think £700 is a bad price. But at this point in time I'm not sure it's worth it as an upgrade. Depending on what games will use it fully. But with rumours that GTA6 probably won't be 4k and most probably will struggle to get 60fps is a bit of a kicker and a disappointment. I'm sure a lot of people will be waiting to see if this is true before paying out.

Re: What have you just bought?
Parking sensors for my car.
I absolutely love my Clio, the new shape looks cool as hell to me, the drive is smooth, it's nippy when I need it but best of all it's a whole world more economical than my old 2.2 TDCi Mondeo Sport.
My only issue is that because of my height, I need the seat to be fairly low, which limits the vision out of the rear window.
I know a guy who does all kinds of auto electrics and this morning he fitted rear sensors which work amazingly. £120 all-in including a 12-month warranty. He's even going to pop by in a few weeks to ensure I'm still happy with it.
And I certainly am

Re: What have you just bought?
Can't afford it but had to buy a new motherboard for my pc, the Asus one that I purchased is about 6 months old or less and is now sat in a box replaced with an MSI one.
I said previously I will never buy Asus again, but decided to give them a shot thinking maybe after 10 years or so they might have improved in quality, nope they have gone worse!

A tube of Volterol gel to try and tame the flare up of an old skiing injury on my knee.

Re: What have you just bought?
A set of drain rods as the council has now added clearing the surface drains and the downpipes and roof gutters to a chargeable list.
And today they sent us a questionnaire basically stating "Council house rents are half those in the private sector, so we will double them after this box-ticking exercise is over".

What's the problem, I give (? ) The council thousands, and get next to nothing in return , off the top of my head, it's street furniture/lighting . That's it . Yes it's my choice however l cannot opt out of paying for things l don't use. All for charging the market rate
