New STB

We have had an email from VM saying our current TiVo box is going to be replaced by a newer model if we wish to have it at no extra charge because Netflix won't work any more and our recordings cannot be transferred.
I was wondering if it is possible to keep our current TiVo box and put it an another room at no extra cost. I say no extra cost as there are two TiVo boxes linked to our account but I've no idea what happened to that additional box but that is a complicated matter. My TV Control app on my phone shows 2 boxes to chose from.

Thoughts please.

Re: New STB

You will be getting a new 360 box, issues I have found so far.

1. I cant find away to undelete programmes
2. The mini doesn't record anything on it, it all stored on the main unit.
3. the mini can only pause for about 5 minutes.

I do like to ability to say the channel name or number via the remote.

Are you paying for 2 boxes is the crucial question, and no doubt what VM will say.

I'd avoid the 360, ask for a V6. Same Tivo software and a lot quicker. The 360 is missing a lot of Tivos features, the 'upgrade' word is misleading to say the least.

Re: New STB

Netflix is only being removed from the old Samsung & Cisco TiVo boxes, so if you've had this email, your account must say you still have one. If you also have a V6, you'll be given the choice of either having both boxes upgraded to 360, or just get a V6 to replace the old TiVo. Or you can stick with what you've got.

The vast majority of CS staff, including I hasten to add, those on VMs community forum, are still advising this as "you must have VM Broadband" without any reference to the free bolt on you mention.
