How are people billed when on a smart meter AND Tracker Tariff, do you get a bill once a month with all daily unit prices listed?
On a none smart meter I used to be billed after submitting a meter reading, something I don't need to do now being on a smart meter.

 Edit

I have answered my own question, it's once a month around the due date.

Has anyone with Octopus Smart Meters had any issues with data readings not showing up on their account and what this means for billing as my Gas Meter hasn't sent any readings for the last 3 days and I have a few 1/2hr instances missing from 7th and 10th April?
Edit

After a quick email to them they have fixed it all ready, I'm very impressed as their fix and reply only took a few mins.

		| Hi there
The HH data is stored in the smart meter and will be available when we come to bill your account.

If not, we can use your meter readings to bill you with the Octopus Tracker which is useful.

I have requested the half hourly readings so you will be able to see this shortly.
 | The octopriceuk.app/tracker site is fantastic for seeing your data, you do need to put in your account info and API number though.

Saying that the Agile Tariff if too volatile and restrictive for me to use that.

 | I am staying on tracker for now, In other news Octopus are investigating shell energy who i moved from for submitting my handover reading to Octopus twice with the second reading over £1500. Octopus are well aware the reading is massively wrong . They checked using the reading from the last year i was with shell and compared them with the reading they are seeing now and knew there was funny business a foot. I am so glad they had my readings from my meter to compare day to day .

I've been using the Octopus Compare app which automatically tracks my electricity usage and compares it to another tariff of my choice. It's 22 days since my smart meters got installed and I've been on the Tracker Tariff since 11th and although the app is assuming I've been on the Tracker since the 5th it's reporting a saving of currently £8 compared to the Flexible Tariff so I'm very happy and over a year it'll be quite a saving, if I had been on the Agile Tariff I would have saved a further £2.

Could someone tell me please what date Octopus send a monthly bill when smart meters are installed, normally I would do a meter reading to get that, my smart meters got installed on the 5th?
 Edit

I emailed support the bill is now in, its nice to see usage listed daily and says less than £1 usage per day for each fuel for the period from 5th to 29th April, costing just £66.39.

 | They take the payment on the 26th of each month for me, the bill then shows on the 14th of each month. Other than Shell trying a fast one with their last reading before handing over to Octopus . Thankfully Octopus jumped on it straight away and refused to accept as Shell gave them my smart meter reading for the last year and it did not tally. Other than that hiccup my bills have been perfect.

Given my meter is way past its EOL (E7 meter from 1989) I'm going to have to replace it.Getting another analogue meter is looking unlikely now, as no one seems to fit them anymore.

So I'm now thinking I may as well do it sooner rather than later, i.e. in the summer.
That would mean I could look at moving to Octopus before next winter if I so desire.

Having an old E7 meter also hampers any move as some, like Octupus, always quote me E7 prices.

 | .
I would advise moving to Octopus before getting smart meters installed, because not all smart meters work with octopus properly which would mean you couldn't take advantage of their smart tariffs.

I cant easily move to Octopus first as I noted above, they seem incapable of quoting me a single rate because my meter [correctly] shows on the datebase as a dual (E7) meter. So in my case, its easier to swap first, move later.

 | Yes you're correct if it's a SMETS2 you should be ok I hope, if it had been SMETS1 then it needed to be made by SECURE.

The meters Octopus installed for me are Kaifi MA120 for Electricity and EDMI GS-60B for Gas, luckily they have worked perfectly as I got the first bill yesterday.

We have had a smart meter for about 2-3 years with little issue apart from when they didn't update my account for the first 6 weeks and kept asking for meter readings.

Does anyone have an Octopus Home Mini thingamajig? I've signed up for it anyway and gone on a waiting list even if I'm not sure it'll be too useful for me, but I do like my stats and since getting Smart Meters and going on their Tracker I check the daily rates and tomorrows rates constantly.https://octopus.energy/blog/octopus-home-mini/ |

I heard it can take a couple of months. As you may be aware they are free but there are those that have ordered one and then immediately put them on ebay for sale. Anything for a quick buck.
