No 2G signal around here, and the companies are not rushing to change for the newer 3G types, so they aren't Smart at all.

I will fight to the bitter end NOT to have one, as I've heard about people dumped onto prepaid.

I should say that my home is a smart home with loads of tech, but I just don't want a smart meter.

Nope, they keep pestering SWMBO to have them installed so we say 'Ok, but it can only be done on a weekend' then we get the response 'Oh, we can't do it then....' repeat every few months

 | What about the RF from your PC, monitor, cellphone, microwave, TV, electrical wiring, electric blankets, fridge, electric shaver, hair dryer, etc.?

I have my gas meter on one side of the house and the electricity on the other and because of the distance it has never worked. So only the electricity stats are fed back, not the gas.

Also I didnt want these things transmitting constantly so changed mine to less frequent readings.
