There simply isn’t going to be a general election unless the parliamentary conservatives become unmanageable. The polls guarantee a wipeout. Boris has the proven mettle imho and that gives him the edge. We'll know soon enough.

a) MPs who hold posts within the party (massively Johnson)
b) the rest of the MPs (not Johnson, probably Sunak)
c) the membership (heavily Johnson)
d) Conservative voters (lean Johnson?)
e) the population at large (not Johnson)

Let's put it another way. Johnson is morally inferior to Sunak. For evidence of this, look no further than how he dealt with the Chris Pincher and Owen Paterson situations turning them into scandals, placing justice and the country into second place.

If Johnson has 100+ MPs backing him, how come we don't know their names when we know Sunak's supporters' names?
