Mick, can I ask where you are getting those numbers from, please?

The Tories need to get over themselves and choose a unity candidate. Someone not too embedded with 'a side' and not someone who is there is settling old scores within the Tory Party at the expense of the country. They're electing a PM, this isn't just about them.

I’m quite happy to see them continue to implode to be fair. The electorate can see through them now.

Does a popular unity candidate even exist?

Those that others may want to be a unity candidate like Ben Wallace are disinclined to throw their hats into the ring.

Re: Liz Truss Resigns [Who'll be the next Prime Minister?]
Let’s bring Johnson back - remember the good old days of corruption, law-breaking, cronyism, avoidable deaths, bullying, lying, lying to Parliament, lying about knowing about alleged sex-offenders, rule-breaking, attending parties at Russian spies villas in Italy, ethical breaches, trashing parliamentary standards, etc…

We got your point a while ago, you dont need to keep repeating it.
Also, none of those caused the economy to crash.

Re: Liz Truss Resigns [Who'll be the next Prime Minister?]
Ouch.
PeoplePolling have the Conservative vote share down at 14% in their most recent poll, a statistical dead heat with September’s food price inflation (14.6%).

NEW: Westminster Voting Intention poll (20 Oct):
LAB: 53% (= from 12 Oct)
CON: 14% (-5)
LDM: 11% (+3)
GRN: 6% (=)
SNP: 5% (-1)

The Tories have no unity candidate as its a bit like looking for a unicorn to find a candidate who would unite the party.

Re: Liz Truss Resigns [Who'll be the next Prime Minister?]
I was thinking this morning (it didn't hurt too much) that it's not just a good PM we need but a good team around him. If Sunak would make the best chancellor then the better PM would be one who would appoint him as chancellor and he should "step aside" from running.
Linked to that would be the team needs to accept appointments and not simply refuse to work for "them".
