Is she though? Sure she made one calamitous decision but someone else will shortly reverse it in its entirety and there will be no long-term damage to the nation, no matter how awful things are in the short term. She was a one-woman disaster area but surely too short lived to be judged “worst ever”.
I’m kind of surprised, given your political preferences expressed on this forum, that you would judge this worse than the irreversible, structural reforms of the Thatcher years.

I would have said Blair taking the country to war on a lie is pretty much worse as a lot of death resulted from the decision
or Chamberlain thinking he had negotiated peace with Hitler

Exactly. Liz Truss might well have been the least suitable for the job, but the award for “worst ever” requires a substantial track record plus some historical perspective.

Let’s not turn this is to a Brexit fight. The only person who beat, Truss, was Truss.

I think we'll keep this thread going for now btw, we can't keep starting a thread every time we get a new PM.

I should have known that as soon as she said she was a fighter and not a quitter that she would quit! My bad.

I empathise with (former) Prime Minister Truss. Only Boris can save us (and the party) now.
