Who will Liz Truss's new chancellor be?
From Steven Swinford of The Times.
I'm told it's NOT Sajid Javid and that Jeremy Hunt is currently out of the country
Otherwise it's currently a guessing game - Zahawi, Clarke and Barclay among names doing rounds but nothing certain yet

Re: Liz Truss [Prime Minister]
My portfolio is up 2.94% today, so my losses in the last month are now only 13.28%.
Thanks Liz.

I’m afraid they need to dump Liz PDQ. I saw a headline yesterday, Liz has confidence in Kwasi, so much so that a day later, he’s sacked.
WTF?
Keir Starmer should hold no confidence vote, this is a total shit show.

I mean no insult by this, I am gob smacked i never thought I’d read you post this.
A sign of just how much an utter shit show our government is
The problem i have is whilst I don’t believe Labour could do any worse I’m
not convinced they could do any better
There’s no credible alternative, the entire political landscape is scorched

And would not calling for a no confidence vote get defeated as the Government will be trying to save its own skin.
It would be akin to turkeys voted for Christmas.

Re: Liz Truss [Prime Minister]
Labour are pretty screwed here anyway, maybe they don't want to take over this mess.
They'll have to spend their entire government trying to fix the economy, the NHS and crime and they'll get kicked out of 5 years because it won't be possible to turn it around in that time. On the Spectator podcast they were talking of some MPs who probably would vote for a no-confidence vote so Labour has to deal with it.

Re: Liz Truss [Prime Minister]
A group of senior Conservatives have decided to call publicly on Liz Truss to resign following her sacking of Kwasi Kwarteng as chancellor.
The party grandees held their discussions and made their decision to act after reports emerged the prime minister was planning to sack her chancellor, which has since been confirmed.
The senior Tories are planning to speak out next week.
