UK Wide is a big stretch, they are only available (on Freeview) in areas with Local TV multiplexes.
And COM7 has a much lower geographic availability than BBCB/PSB3 so it's not as simple has having Freeview HD capable equipment.

With owners Local TV launch an UK Wide Channel on Sky Channel 195.

So Freeview viewers in the areas listed in my early post may no longer have an local programmes but an UK Wide channel.

 | I've been saying that should happen long before Covid, since they adjusted the rest of the UK to match the make-up/configuration of the Scottish BBC-A multiplex even though it wasn't earmarked for use. The space has been there for a long time. I've previously suggested that since there is no obvious use in England, TV-wise, they might up the bitrates of some of the BBC Local radio stations e.g. stereo if they are currently mono.
