It seems to be the Goldilocks Zone this year, as late as you can launch something, communicate it to the public and yet enough time to fix any tech problems before the busy Christmas period where everything under the sun is competing for the public's attention.

Re: Changes to Virgin TV (2021)

It has been widely reported in local newspapers that all English regions will go HD on 21 October. This is one of them:

That article is a load of rubbish and shoddy journalism - they need to check the veracity of their sources if they are going to rely on Twitter as the basis of their articles. Local newspapers should stick to local stories and leave it for national newspapers like the Express, who are experts at getting stories such as this wrong.

I believe the info reported in the article was originally announced on the BBCs own website.

My issue is that the article claims that the BBC has made an announcement, but the tweet it's using as its source isn't an official BBC account - something that whoever wrote the article should have been able to spot.

This is how rumours become interpreted as facts. We still don't know the BBC's plans for certain.

News of this was also reported on the broadband tv website, although it does not quote a specific source.

Re: Changes to Virgin TV (2021)

It only seems to be on newspaper sites run by Newsquest.

They run our local newspaper and get almost all their news by lifting postings from other sites or using facebook and twitter postings.

If Newsquest say it is going to happen - they it is most likely not going to happen.
