Flybe staff and suppliers are now all behaving as if the company has collapsed, even though no official announcement has been made. Mechanics taking their tools home to avoid finding them locked in hangars tomorrow morning, and Glasgow airport has started impounding aircraft tonight, apparently expecting the company to default on its fees.

And I can’t see anything premature about his reporting on this. It’s a perfectly reasonable summary of what has happened (the company stopped selling tickets at 10pm) and what is likely to happen next (other airlines will pick up some of the routes).

Sad for the staff but we shouldn't be using planes to get around the UK (although they did a few European destinations).

It's still a small country Den, but public transport needs improving and fares lowering. There's something wrong if plane tickets are cheaper than rail.

But air travel impacts less (differently) to building roads/rail. Being a small island infrastructure is more likely to negatively impact more people than somewhere larger were the distances and spaces make it easier and more desirable.
