It saddens me that we live in a country where a disgraced former tabloid editor who posted fake pictures of our troops and was complicit in the large scale hacking of people’s phones can accuse an actual war hero of being unpatriotic and 16,000 *redacted* “like” it.

I (mostly) disagree with "hating" things, because hate is such a negative emotion which blinds rational thought and discussion- I understand strongly disliking things, but you can have a reasoned discussion about those things; if someone hates something, it becomes an argument about who’s right, rather than a debate about what’s right - the hate becomes all-consuming, and reason leaves the discussion.
