Thanks Daddy, we tossed up between Brixham and Tenerife, no comparison admittedly but the thought of flying again did it for me. Our holiday Park does Bingo Den, last time we went there Mr T won over £500. We couldn't be that lucky again surely?
Thanks for the weather info heero, and 5th of May is our youngest son's birthday.

Tenerife is lovely Nash, but I am less disappointed at not going now that I have worked out that there and back for us would involve 7 taxis, 2 trains, 1 overnight stay in the Hampton Hilton, and two 4 hour flights, not to mention the claustrophobia.

A little bit of of good & bad news Imo.
I received a letter from the hospital today and tbh it was not what I was expecting after being told that my endoscopy would be done under GA.

I have just received a letter stating otherwise and I quote I will make arrangements for this to be done with Propofol sedation. I will also copy the letter to the lady so that she is aware that doing it this method increases her risks, though if she would like to discuss this me further beforehand I would be happy to see her in the clinic.
My question is has anyone had Propofol sedation and will it knock me out as the other sedation just did not work with me and tbh I'm prettified now that this may the case with this, I cannot believe they have once again took the offer of a GA away despite stating otherwise both verbally and by letter.

Any feed back on Propofol sedation will be most welcomed.

I have a very bad reaction to normal General Anesthetics and can be kept in recovery for a couple of hours whilst my readings stabalise so when I needed to go back into theatre soon after my emergency Appendectomy a couple of years ago they used Propofol on me.

It must have totally knocked me out because I can't remember a thing but I do remember coming round afterwards back in ICU and John saying that I seemed to be back on ICU only a very short time after he was informed I was out of theatre. I think they can apply different levels of dosage to vary the depth you are sedated and the length of time it works.

Add/
Having a read around the net it seems that Propofol can be used for conscious sedation with no memory of a procedure up to full sedation which I had.

Hopefully someone on here will be able to tell you their experience.

Thanks Jo, I bit the bullet and phoned my Crohns nurse who has put my mind at ease as she said with this sedation it will totally relax me and I will quickly fall asleep once the Propofol is injected and it will be nothing like the previous conscious sedation as it is a totally different sedation as I will remember not a thing about the procedure and let's be honest that is what I want to remember nothing.

I'm glad I phoned now much more settled.

I've just come across my Mum's receipt for her Singer electric sewing machine bought in May 1946 for £23. 4/6d, equal to around £675 at today's rates. Wonder where she got that money from? Incidentally the machine still works perfectly (I was using it yesterday) it hasn't been used for the last 3 years and has never been serviced.
