What are Virgin going to do with BT Sport Showcase?
Are they going to offer the HD variant or just simulcast the SD channel carrying the appropriate game at the appropriate time?

"THE English Football League and Sky have agreed a new £600m deal to show any midweek Championship game live on television.
Details of the revolutionary five-year contract between 2019-2024 – communicated to the 72 member clubs last night – are to be announced today.

From next season, the broadcaster can show every midweek match via its interactive service so that viewers can choose which game to watch.

There are eight full midweek rounds of Championship matches so there will be regular head-to-head clashes with Champions League games shown on BT Sport.

Sky Sports have retained the rights to the Football League in a deal worth around £120million a year."

Where is OB when we need him as l am sure he will give us his legendary wisdom on yet another big UK sports right deal going to Sky when we were being given the impression that the streaming giants were going to gobble all these big sports TV rights contracts up.

I actually posted about the Premier League, because I think that's where it will all start in earnest in the UK. I also said there were likely to be bids from the global players for these Premiership rights either this coming round or the next.

I'd definitely be interested in this to follow some of my teams matches who based on recent form will be back in the Championship by the time this starts.
