However, as the Pay TV channels offer less and less by way of good quality dramas and entertainment, I am sure I will be looking for cheaper ways to access whatever is left that is worth watching in the not too distant future, unless something changes for the better.

Next week, the only programmes I have selected from the Sky channels to record on my V6 are:

Madam Secretary (Sky 1)
Limitless (Sky 2)
Lucky Man (Sky 1)
Shades of Blue (Sky Living)
The Catch (Sky Living)
The Blacklist (Sky 1)
24: Legacy (Fox)
Legion (Fox)
Bull (Fox)
Quantico (Alibi)

Now, considering we are in peak season, that's not exactly mind boggling, is it? This compares with 14 dramas on the terrestrials (plus other programmes, such as Question Time), for which I don't pay. It makes me wonder if I can justify continuing my subscription to the pay channels sometimes, and the position seems to be getting worse.

What are your opinions on the 9 month limit stated in the article? I'm not too sure it is enough but it may please the majority unless you're in to keeping and re-watching shows

 | I have taken up to 18 months to watch programmes I've recorded, but I would be happy with one year.

The nine month period that has been agreed here is a good start, though.

 | I think the 9 months is just a starting point in time i can see it being extended to 24 months or longer for a extra fee.
9 months for me is plenty of time.
I've been accepted on the trial so will keep updated as much as i'm allowed to.

Meanwhile, in the UK, "Britain’s commercial broadcasters have won their long-running dispute with TVCatchup over the distribution of their content over the internet.
ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5 argued TVCatchup was in breach of copyright and couldn’t rely on UK legislation that provided for retransmission over cable networks."

 | Thank you, theone, this is much appreciated.

A year is the start point for me, and is more easily monitored. Anything beyond that would be appreciated!

I don't want to pay for access to the cloud, but I guess that anything beyond a year after transmission would be deemed to be acceptable to most people.
