FIFA fines home nations
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/38368144
I can not believe they are doing this, we should leave the world cups and hope we can bring FIFA to its knees, plus I would refuse to pay the fine and why have England been charged the most.
FIFA are the cancer of football.

Re: FIFA fines home nations
Not sure why anyone expected a different FIFA. You cut two heads off the Hydra and four grew back.
Gianni Infantino of course, yet another man with no relation to the game at any level has worked his way to FIFA president, also implicated in the Panama Papers everyone suddenly forgot about.
The fine will be appropriated to the amount each FA could afford I think.
There's more worrying issues imo, despite the evident corruption regarding both bids. We're still going to have a 'World' Cup in a racist corrupt country and another in a country that outright bought it and has essentially gotten countless people killed just preparing for it.
As for leaving World Cups, I doubt anyone would really care or miss the atrocious performances of a country that still thinks it's a bigger team than it is.

Re: FIFA fines home nations
The teams knew the rules and knowingly broke them, that's fine. Trying to dictate whether the fans can wear poppies or not is another matter though.

Stuff FIFA, Stuff the World Cup, Stuff the fine up their backhand backsides.
We should boycott the World Cup, and refuse to give it air time.
What do idiots not understand about the poppy, it is NOT political

It kinda is. Look at Ireland. Just because it's not political to us doesn't mean it isn't to others. Besides I don't think FIFA think the Poppy is especially the problem but it does become a slippery slope they don't want to go down. There will be a symbols in other nations and are perfectly acceptable to their own citizens but provocative to others. Loads of pitfalls in Eastern Europe for example.
We never used to wear Poppys on football shirts. That's a new trend. The FA would have done better not to pick this fight and instead donate the money they knew they would be fined to the Royal British Legion.

Re: FIFA fines home nations
There are lots of rules (and laws) that we think are stupid, but we have to obey them regardless.
They broke the rules, knowingly, and they got fined, they should just pay up and get on with it.

I'm curious is that £35,000 per player or all in because it doesn't seem like much of a fine to me when some of the players can earn 3-4 times as much as that in one game
