FIFA
Well corrupt FIFA needs to be disbanded and something else put in it place, and NO one involved with FIFA to be in the new body.
They are investigating Wales for "The Fans" wearing poppies.

I personally feel we (home nations) should pull out of any FIFA run events.
Some people I work with say they should keep the own house in order first then go back to counting certain gold.
I will now post this and engaged swear mode.

Re: FIFA
The notion that FIFA is a fit and proper organisation to set/enforce standards and lecture others on compliance is a joke. It says a great deal (none of it good) about the world of football that FIFA still exists and exerts any influence at all.

Re: FIFA
Don't get why this is different from black arm bands which you are allowed to wear. Remembrance Day is not tied to any single incident/battle/war.

Re: FIFA
Dear FIFA,
Was the recent decision to disband your anti-racism task force prior to the upcoming Russia 2018 World Cup, a country where institutional prejudice, casual and organised racism is a massive problem, a political one?
PS. I hope your internal communications are secured with strong encryption.

Re: FIFA
We should just withdraw from FIFA competitions. The next 2 World cups have been 'bought'. Plus we've no chance of winning...

It is tied to the British Army though. We're not universally popular.
I didn't mind the ban on wearing the Poppy on the shirts that much. I thought it would be easier for FIFA to make an exception but I can understand their reasoning and it's not as if we have got a long history of doing it. 10 years ago we didn't wear Poppys on football shirts but it suddenly gained traction after newspapers went on campaigns. It would have been better to pay the equivalent of the fine to the Royal British Legion imo.
But this case of objecting to the fans wearing it is absurd. I saw it on Twitter and thought there must be some misunderstanding, maybe there still is. Surely FIFA will see how moronic this is and back down.

How long did it take them to sort Blatter out or even admit anything was wrong? How moronic can they be? FIFA's so infested with vested interests and nepotism that it wouldn't recognise a just cause if it walked up and smacked the executive committee in the face.

Re: FIFA
Fifa is an utter joke amongst soccer fans but no matter how loud the protest they carry on and on and poppies are worn to remember all war dead and should be allowed perhaps if the appropriate bung was given it would all get sorted.

Corruption gains them something though. This doesn't, it's a bunch of hassle and bad press for no gain at all.

Corruption has made them look what they are - a very bad joke.
