A lot of people don't like being early adopters of new technology and would rather wait a bit longer and pay a cheaper price.
I'm beginning to think that this is part of the VM business model.

Yet most of these companies with 20mbs upload are a lot cheaper than VM anyway, vm are just leeches in my opinion.
VM could probaly easily offer 200mbs down 200mbs up but they don't want to do that as be too much common sense required something vm seem to lack, if they did that one thinks vm would kill it on the broadband side of things and give other providers food for thought but right now vm is the laughing stock of tv, broadband and phone world probably mobile too.
VM are actually quite expensive nowadays for what they are.

lol, I'm always tempted to point out the honest situation when people say things like there's been no good news for yonks. Whether VM should have done some of these things earlier is another matter but probably one we agree on.

VM at one point used to be the best around they had more on demand content than anyone and decent boxes too (v+hd) now they are awful a outdated tivo that would be more suited in prehistoric times, a network that can't handle the load (oversubscribing) and a tv service that is getting left behind by everyone else including new comers to tv like bt and talktalk.
I agree with Richard about everyone not wanting the latest technology hell it took me 4 years to even consider HD after HD launched i was quite happy with my old crt tv but eventually the time came when it had to be updated.
VM just like to raise prices why offering very little in return.

Unless things have changed (and I admit I don't keep track of BT and Talk Talk), doesn't VM have more TV channels than either of them?
VM have a new box coming; unsubstantiated reports suggest that it is fast and has 6 tuners. (It wouldn't surprise me if it had some of the Tivo Bolt functionality as well.)
But even the current Tivo, when used as a PVR is miles ahead of the BT and Talk Youview boxes IMHO.

Youview is meh tbf but imo it is better than clunky tivo, vm do have more hannels yes but this could change, also bt were the first to offer uhd and not sure how true it is but BT are moving away from youview soon and are developing a new box.
One thing i'm sure we all can agree on is the future of tv will be very interesting and exciting.
Ypuview also has dynamic EPG now something vm still lack.

Even thought you could purchase these events for £30.00 on SKY you actually had to register your details with Boxnation through their website first, including your debit card details, before you could watch the event. Once your details were registered you could order via your remote to watch the event.
This new way cuts out all of that hassle. Simply order it through your remote, like any other SKY Box Office event, and be billed directly by SKY.
