SH3 in modem mode

Just received SH3 courtesy of Virgin to update my SH2ac.
Could anyone post some simple instructions on how a non tech person (my wife) can set up the SH3 to replicate the SH2ac.
[Being a silver surfer I have physical limitations, one being tone deaf which certainly cuts out phoning, also having arthritic finger joints]
Nothing included in package regarding setting in modem mode.
Ta for now

Re: SH3 in modem mode

If you're going to put it in modem mode then there's nothing else that needs doing.

Enabling and disabling modem mode:
https://help.virginmedia.com/system/...MER_TYPE=Cable

If you're going to leave it in router mode (so you can use the hub's wifi) then you'll want to rename the wifi network SSID's to separate names for 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz. Just like the SH2ac has.

You can do this by logging in to the hub interface by clicking on this link: http://192.168.0.1/
Wait around 10 seconds for the page to load fully, so that you can type in the password box.
Type in the "settings password" from the label on the underside of the hub.
Click on 'advanced settings', then 'wireless', then 'security'.
Add -2G to the end of the 2.4Ghz box labelled "Wifi Network Name (SSID)".
Add -5G to the end of the 5Ghz box labelled "Wifi Network Name (SSID)".
Click 'Apply Changes' at the bottom of the page.

Not a lot else that needs changing.
