With on demand channels though you don't need to record the content as they're already there.

If you have the new software, you can add On Demand content to My Shows to remind yourself to watch it later

The Sky Sports Mix HD placeholder points at TSid 23 which is currently carrying BBC Olympics HD 4 to 8. I would think that 5 MPEG2 HD services on a single transport stream would be too many, so you probably right about that one.

Thanks for info.

Just spotted Universal HD on channel 164. That can only have happened after BBC4 HD moved from 164(26th July).

Not convinced the EPG has been tagged correctly. Would CSI: Miami from 2004 be in HD? Although Radio Times website says it's in HD.
With a HD channel the programme itself will(or should) only be tagged as HD, if it is HD. It might be an old programme only available in SD.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin Media TV (2016) Vol 2
Am sure it was in HD. The USA was filming HD before us in the UK really were broadcasting it.

The programme not the EPG will have been tagged as "HD". VM and the Radio Times will then both read the tag and advise viewers accordingly. Whether the flag is correct or not is a different matter.

This channel app is normally only available at no extra cost to XL customers, or at a cost of £3.99 a month.

I am in the process of sizing up my alternative package from Sky so comparing channels and am really surprised that I had no idea about most of the channels VM have added even a year ago. ok most are a waste of time but 1 or 2 I might have used if I had known. I wonder why VM don't communicate these things to their customers? (clearly I didn't read this thread enough!)
