EDIT: Have re-read the article and have realised it's talking about post Olympic content. So it could be a possibility, but it sounds like the rights negotiations could take a while so doubt it'll be August:
Quote:
After the launch of the global digital product in August, the Olympic Channel intends to foster partnerships with other Olympic stakeholders, including rights-holding broadcasters and National Olympic Committees to develop localised versions of the Olympic Channel. Localised versions will offer language-specific user experiences on digital platforms, and will also include linear television programming options.

But no new channels is set to launch on Virgin Media UK we have all of them.
Maybe Eurosport News will relaunch in the UK on Virgin Media?

I think this is going to be very significant when it comes to Virgin Media moving into 4K content.
The potential Discovery content speaks for itself.
I can see Eurosport investing in 4K coverage of the big tickets events they have such as the Olympics, Tennis Grand Slams, Tour De France etc. perhaps go back to having secondary coverage of the World Cup and Euros etc..
Would be nice to think Virgin Media could be front of the queue for this.

It would be great if they could negotiate some 4K content that was exclusive to VM. I will hold off looking for a 4K tv until we have something more to go on.

Maybe in future i will return to VM they are certainly improving but right now i'm happy with access to hundreds of apps via android tv box that doesn't grind to a half, hundreds of channels via my us sub and vpn, countless on demand content from Showtime, hbo (vm don't have this but may once new talks with SKY happen), content from netflix amongst other networks, live sport including 3pm kickoffs, ufc, wwe, cricket, rugby etc, 1080p quality movies from Netflix and other providers such as HBO,Showtime, Starz,Cinemax, HBO nordic and still paying less than half of what i used to pay VM, did i mention too 78mbs bb unlimited with 20mbs upload (like vm though SSE do throttle but nothing too bad). Paying around £45p/m all in.
Envious indeed

Probably because he knows that his overseas-based services won't work forever but for now he's onto a good thing even if he has to navigate between a plethora of apps.

Indeed there's always alternative ways though to get tv which for obvious reasons i won't discuss here, but you are correct Netflix already have found a way to stop vpns and smart dns on their services, cactus vpn have already admitted defeat but i'm quite happy with uk netflix tbh.

I'm still getting US Netflix on my setup, the average person couldn't manage it though.
