But surely that's more of a reason to leave.

They probably just scroll through this lot:

and get confused.

You can stream that through the website
It does have some funny programs on though. I was watching it at Easter and the reporter was at this big Easter gathering, interviewing women dressed as chicks and stuff, all really light hearted.
Just before they ended the piece, the studio said 'So how is security there?'
ha ha, lulling me into thinking it was a proper news channel

This deal means that Virgin Media now have the rights to the soaps such as Cornation Street and Emmerdale for the next ten years. Other ITV Studio content is included in the deal.
Not looking good for UTV Ireland as it now looks like all ITV content will be moved over to TV3 and rumours suggest that Virgin Media might close UTV Ireland.

Reason: 8 channels maybe for BBC not Channel 4.

Will this be similar to Sky, with Sky Sports Mix being available to all VM customers? HD channel for the XL package?

We would not go for 5USA +1 for axe on Virgin Media UK.
Our money would be on Channel 5 + 24 being axe on all networks and it slot being use for:
Sky - Spike +1
Freeview - 5USA +1 (UK Wide) with 5Star +1 launching on Freeview HD
Virgin Media UK - Spike

I saw an article that says Sky Sports Mix will be available to all Sky customers. Maybe VM have secured the same kind of deal? Would be good for those without the Sports subscriptions.

I'm expecting it to be just part of the Sky Sports package as I get the impression it's replacing one of the current Sky Sports Channels, Either Sky Sports 5 or SKY Sports F1
However if it's on XL then happy days :-) although would worry that it could be a precursor to VM dropping BT Sport from XL.

AFAIK this is a simulcast of any of the skysports channels and its launch is partly guided by the BT sports free, there will be no additional content on this that wont be available on any of the current skysports offerings at that time i.e. if skysports is showing football then it will be exactly as on skysports 1, I believe they do this sometimes with F1 and its on sky one
As its a lure channel to get people to pay for skysports channels I honestly think it will be available to all VM from M upwards IMO

lt would be suicidal if Virgin took BT Sports out of the XL pack as without it there there would be a considerable loss of customers who subscribe to it for that one reason and Virgin ain't that stupid in my opinion.

Sky have already said that it won't be a premium channel as it's intention is to promote Sky Sports; for this reason i'm not surprised that it will be on VM.

M would be nice, but I bet it will be in M+.
Wasn't aware that it would be a simulcast, I thought that it would be a pick and mix type thing.
I guess this will mean the end of free Sky Sports days, hopefully this will lead to more free Sky Movies weekends

I'm just trying not to build hopes up too much. If I expect the worse then everything else is a bonus
However nice to dream that with XL next year we'll have 52 PL games and 10 Championship matches* along with most of the European football, including some Spainish.
* based on the rumour that Mix will show 10 PL and 10 Championship matches per season.
