Time for an English Parliment?

The EU referendum result has shown just how essential it is we have an English Parliment. England voted over whelmingly to Leave the EU and the referendum has shown how divided the UK actually is and has been for years.

So, Farage..... Get on the case, get us an English Parliment....

Re: Time for an English Parliment?

NO, we need a United Parliament to vote on what effects the UK as a whole, but where it only affects England then only English elected MP's should have a vote.

While the UK exists there can only be one overall ruling body, but when things only effect one part of it then only that part should vote on it be it Scotland, England, Wales or N.Ireland.

You can still have a UK Parliment and an English Parliment, it needs to happen and I suspect within 10 years it will of happened.

How does having an English Parliment dived the "kingdom", The Scottish Parliment didn't, the Welsh Assembly didn't, etc. Or is this just an anti English thing?

Re: Time for an English Parliment?

Where do we stop?

Should we have a Yorkshire Parliament, a Midlands Parliament, a London Parliament?

Your default rebuttal, if someone disagrees with you, seems to be 'are you anti-English'....

Because in our parliament in London the whole of the UK is represented including England ,we do not need an English parliament.

It was like that once, it changed on Friday. The Scottish are amazing, The Welsh are amazing, the Irish and Northern Irish are amazing and the English are amazing. There no getting this cat back in the bag, England is not a racist country as everyone here will agree. The English are amazing I'm sure everyone here will agree.

Re: Time for an English Parliment?

One issue is that England is much bigger, richer and higher population than Wales or Scotland or NI so decisions made for England can have a greater impact on the others than the others have on England.

I forgot to add, when living in Harrow I was the only Englishman in a house full of Irishmen with an Irish landlord.

You can and should be proud of being English as am I. It does not mean you are racist.
